Tree Identification Workshop

Saturday, October 10th 3:00-4:30PM

Come learn how to identify some local tree species with Mike Waldron! Waldron is a retired dendrophile (lover of trees!) with over 35 years of experience in industrial forestry, from working with sawmills to being a forestry consultant. He will teach the foundational elements of tree identification and then we will use those skills to identify some trees at Furnace Run Park. If you have been wanting to learn how to recognize types of trees beyond just evergreen or deciduous, this will be the workshop for you!

This is a free program, and you will receive a copy of DCNR’s “Common Trees of Pennsylvania” booklet to take home with you.

All ages are welcome, but this workshop will be most suitable for proficient readers age 8+.
